Creative Industries Strategy

The development of Victoria’s first creative industries strategy is underway.

The strategy will seek to strengthen Victoria’s leadership across the creative industries, stimulating innovation, collaboration, investment and growth, and providing a fertile ground for creative and cultural development.

Early in 2015, a Ministerial Taskforce and Expert Reference Group were appointed to oversee the development of this strategy, spark a state-wide conversation and garner input from across Victoria’s creative industries and beyond.

The Taskforce conducted a broad public consultation from June-July 2015, receiving submissions from almost 10,000 Victorians.

Drawing on public contributions, extensive research and their own expertise, the Taskforce has produced a report which will inform the Victorian Government's strategy, to be released in 2016. The report includes five focus areas and recommends 42 initiatives.

The Taskforce Report is now available to view on the creative strategy consultation site. We welcome any feedback on the proposed initiatives. Feedback received before 20 December 2015 will be taken into consideration as the Creative Industries Strategy is developed.
